Is Baby Chiropractic Safe? And Why I Think It Matters for Bonding
If you're wondering whether it's safe to bring your baby to a chiropractor, I'm so glad you're asking. That question means you're doing exactly what a good parent does. You're protecting your baby.
I'm a mom of five. I've felt that fierce, scared, "nobody touch my baby" feeling more times than I can count. So let me answer you the way I'd want someone to answer me.
What "Safe" Looks Like in My Office
Baby care is nothing like adult chiropractic. No twisting. No popping. No force. I use a very light touch, about the pressure you'd use to check whether a tomato is ripe. I watch your baby's cues and slow down or stop if they need a break. You're right there the whole time, holding them or sitting close, and you can ask me anything.
I've been caring for babies and families since 2010. Over 16 years, I've learned how tiny bodies are built and how they move. I've also come to trust a kind of intuition that helps me sense what a baby is feeling, even when they can't tell me. Babies talk with their bodies: how they tense, how they turn their heads, how they settle. I listen to all of it.
And you are always in charge. Every family deserves to make their own choices, including choices shaped by faith and values. Many of my families are Catholic or Christian, and I never step past what feels right to you.
Is It Necessary?
Here's the honest part. Chiropractic care isn't a cure for anything, and I'll never tell you it is. But here's what I see, and what parents tell me again and again.
Birth is a big event for a little body. Long labors, fast deliveries, unusual positions, and C-sections can all leave a baby holding tension. Sometimes that shows up as a baby who only turns one way, struggles to latch on one side, can't seem to get comfortable, or has a hard time sleeping or pooping. When we gently help that tension ease, parents often tell me their baby seems calmer, sleeps a little longer, or feeds more easily.
Even small progress can change how a whole household feels.
Let's Talk About Bonding
I want to say this clearly, because I've seen too many moms carry guilt about it: you can and do bond with a colicky, fussy baby. Your love isn't any smaller because your baby cries a lot. Babies who struggle are loved deeply, and they bond deeply.
But I also know how heavy it gets. When you're up all night bouncing and shushing, worried something is wrong, it's hard to simply enjoy your baby. A baby who sleeps well and poops well is a different experience than a baby who is uncomfortable much of the time. It's not a bigger love. It's just less stress wrapped around it.
That's what I'm hoping for when I care for your baby. If I can help take even a little of that stress off your shoulders, you get more room to relax, to stare at that tiny face, and to let big brothers and sisters snuggle in too. Siblings feel the calm in a home just like we do.
Why I Care So Much
I went through my own medical emergencies as a mom. I know what it is to feel crushed and hopeless. I never want you to feel that way. That's the heart behind our mission at Raw Health: to help families reclaim hope, help, and healing through loving service.
